Regular services are Milan Ladies’ Group, Apna Elderly Gents’ Group, Sanmaan Asian Group and Aasra Group.  These groups have been successfully running for a number of years.

Services

The Panjabi Centre hall is available for hire for private functions such as weddings and parties.

There are kitchen facilities on site, and also cleaning services for after the function.  The hall is available for hire at the weekends.

Milan group aims to reduce isolation amongst elder Asian women, who are retired, widowed, living alone, or disabled to improve their quality of life.  The group meets every Tuesday at 12 noon to socialise, take part in light exercise, celebrate special occasions, attend trips and enjoy light snacks.  The group leader and volunteers organise outings and invite speakers to address the group on issues affecting them. 

 Milan Elderly Ladies’ Group

Apna group have been meeting for 12 years.  The group brings together elderly and retired men to an informal environment where they can share stories, tell amusing anecdotes, recite poetry, sing songs, celebrate birthdays and discuss community issues.  Speakers are invited to address various issues on health and welfare matters.  Trips are organised by members to places in the UK and Europe.  Lunch is prepared by volunteers.

Apna Elderly Gents’ Group

Sanmaan Asian Group is a mixed forum for both men and women.  The group meet to discuss current issues, share stories, problems and experiences, recite poetry and sing songs, organise trips in Europe and abroad and also invite speakers to talk to the group about issues of interest.

Aasra Group

Aasra group is exclusively for women and focuses on yoga and light exercise.  The group often organises trips and talks.  The main aim of the group is to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  The group have also had taster sessions for bollywood and salsa classes.

Yog and Pranayam classes are also for women and are run free of charge.  The group has grown tremendously since it started.  Booking is not required, just turn up on the day and complete a membership form.
